A single watermark sits in one place. A repeating watermark tiles the same label or logo across a page, so it stays visible when someone views or prints a different area. It can help identify a draft, sample or internal-review copy. A visible watermark is a label, not a security lock.
Add a repeated watermark with PDFMochi
- Open the PDFMochi watermark tool and select your PDF.
- Choose a preset such as Draft, Confidential, Approved, Copy or Sample, or type your own short text. To use a logo, choose Logo watermark and select a PNG or JPG.
- Keep Repeat as a pattern switched on. The page preview shows the repeated layout.
- Adjust pattern spacing, rotation, opacity and style. For a logo, choose a size that leaves clear space between copies.

Choose a spacing that protects readability
Closer spacing places more marks on each page; wider spacing leaves more of the document open. Begin with the preview, then check a page with small print, a table or a chart. Lower opacity usually makes a repeated pattern easier to read over the document. If a watermark crosses important text, increase spacing or make it lighter.
Text or logo?
Text is useful for short labels such as DRAFT or SAMPLE and remains easy to read at different sizes. A logo can identify a business or project. A transparent PNG often blends better than a JPG with a solid background. Keep a logo simple; fine details may disappear when the logo is repeated and reduced.
What a watermark cannot do
A watermark does not encrypt a PDF, block screenshots or guarantee that a recipient cannot edit the document. PDFMochi creates a separate edited copy, so keep your original. Adding a watermark changes the PDF and may affect signatures, forms or accessibility features. Check critical documents carefully and use an approved workflow when those features must be preserved.
